printed on Giclée Hahnemühle Pearl
This is one of a series of a series of photographs inspired by 1950’s tattoos. The images are created as set pieces / sculptures then photographed and enhanced digitally. They have an aesthetic taken from tattoo design that reminds us of our own mortality and the fleeting nature of life, but also Grecian sculptures that captures the timeless immortality of our deeds. With gritty detail, graphic style and heavy shadows, they are both foreboding and life affirming. They are a true celebration of life and death. Prints are one of a limited edition print run of 40 (20 x A2 & 20 x A1) across all variations.
A2 or A1 Giclée prints created using the very latest technology and printed onto Hahnemüle Pearl. This 285gsm paper has a smooth orange peel texture and a bright neutral white base, it creates really deep blacks and offers vibrant colour reproduction and great detail too. The paper is resin coated with a fibrous feel. The satin finish of the resin coating gives depth to the image which combined with the texture and vibrant colour reproduction give the image the feel of an oil painting.
